瓜拉十八丁:访炭窑 Kuala Sepetang: Charcoal Factory Retreats
2月 08, 2014终于来到我最爱——旅行!呵呵,虽然这次的旅行并非有好玩之意,但是这个地方固然成为一个来这儿做知识旅行的去处之一。(现在赶完了,我还有很多(手指数不清)的文章要生!)
今天来到的地方是NTV 7 (第七电视台)曾经播映的节目:《炭乡》,重新让大家了解得到炭的制作过程。
Finally, I'm out for some travel! Although it's a small travel out for only some hours, but it was quite a knowledgeable travel. And also, it had became one of the major scenes in NTV7 of the show, named Glowing Embers. As you know, I will be here to spend some time introducing the procedure on how to produce charcoal.
许许多多的人常向往就是高楼大厦,或是在冷气的咖啡馆里喝杯咖啡聊聊事。这就是现代人的风格,或不多说,即刻让大家感受得到炭窑的旅程吧!
As all of us now for the 21-st century, innovative inventions were invented for the generation, us. We spend our time in shopping and having coffees in coffee shop. And now, allow me to introduce to you!

这是人人公认的节日, 圣诞节。不过我家因晚上才庆祝,我们就毫不犹豫往瓜拉十八丁出发。虽然前往瓜拉十八丁的路程大约有两小时。不过我们约定在才令园 (Chai Leng Park) 吃白咖喱面。现在街头街尾都有人介绍白咖喱面。(我迟些会为大家做介绍)
The day was Christmas, but we will be celebrating this festival during night. Before departing to Kuala Sepetang, we had been enjoyed our breakfast at Chai Leng Park, with some authentic white curry noodles. Since the ramen rater (www.theramenrater.com) rated our Malaysia's white curry noodles as the seventh ranked with the hottest curry, all of us included Malaysians would like to try it.
接下来,就是要前往十八丁!十八丁前身为Port Weld, 是20世纪相当重要的码头之一。后再转为渔村,前几年游客渐渐涌入这儿。
Our next destination, we're going to Kuala Sepetang. The Kuala Sepetang was also known as Port Weld during 20-century for it's jetty and finally, it changes into a fisherman village. Tourists were here to get something fresh from the sea and it's beautiful scenery.
第一站:Charcoal Chuah 炭窑
看到告示牌的妈咪,就马上喝住了老爸。老爸灵机一动,马上把车子驶进去。。结果,不是啦!
那个是炭窑(可以拍照)不过真正的炭窑旅在里面啦!

My mum saw the signboard and call my dad entered into the site, but it's not! The exact place supposed to be at the back. Fortunately, we met Mr. Chuah, the boss of the charcoal factory. He explained the procedures to us.
Mr Chuah 特别热情,特地为我们介绍了有关过程。妈妈非常高兴,她说有炭卖,回去就可以摆在家里,或则来烤加比糕来使用。Mr Chuah 操着一口流利的华语和英语,方言更是难不到他。他先向我们介绍咸巴柴。
Mr Chuah is a friendly person, he allowed us to visit and explained carefully on the procedures of the burning process of charcoal. You may purchased the charcoal upon request and he spoke English and Chinese fluently, and even dialects! Firstly, he had introduced us the salted wood, which Hokkiens called as Kiam Ba Cha. (Sorry, I'm a Hokkien, other Cantonese or any dialects preferred unknown.)
Mr Chuah 声称,在日本战争我国时,是日本人教导本地人学习如何烧烤炭。有许多人被误导,称咸巴柴的制作品为炭!(正确:红树林木)瓜拉十八丁有着丰足的红树木来源,因此那儿被发展为炭厂。虽然我们本地的人,都是以瓦斯炉来成为主要烹饪工具。
Mr Chuah told us that when Japan invaded Malaya during the 40s, Malaya's residents were taught to burn charcoal. And most of us were been wronged with how does charcoal came from, but it's actually from the mangrove trees.
咸巴柴本身不会烧起来,是工人把炭放在咸巴柴下面,引导热能进入咸巴柴。咸巴柴本身是咸的,通过这个过程,你会感觉到有烟雾从炭窑出来,其实那些都是从咸巴柴。
The salted trees' branch did not burn but released gas contained with some salty air vapor. They did not burn yet they were been put a small charcoal under the lower part of the branch and it will released gas.
